The third Asia Pacific School on Internet Governance ran from 8 to 12 July 2018 at the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok, in Conference Center room B108. It was the most competitive edition of the founding period and the most completely recorded.

53 named alumni from 24 economies — the widest geographic spread of any edition.
6 delegates sent by national schools on internet governance.

Faculty
Six lecturers taught the 2018 school: Kilnam Chon (South Korea), Danit Gal (Japan / Israel), Xing Li (China), Kenji Saito (Japan), Eneken Tikk (Finland / Estonia) and Sunyoung Yang (United States / South Korea).
APSIG published a Lecturer’s Bio page for 2018 listing these six names, but the biography text itself was never written. Recovering it is one of the open items in the archive.

Onward fellowships
Three members of the 2018 cohort went on to the Internet Governance Forum, from Nepal, Tunisia and Mongolia. Aicha Chebbi and Babu Ram Aryal filed participation reports afterwards, catalogued as IGF-2018-1 and IGF-2018-2.
Record and media
2018 is the best-documented of the founding editions. Every class and session was recorded with OBS Studio and published as a complete video playlist. Photographs were collected in two shared albums, and the class and session cover-page deck was published alongside them. The edition’s report was issued as APSIG-2018-1, 2018 APSIG Annual Report, in December 2018.
Two teaching papers by Kilnam Chon were produced in the same year: Digital Governance — Introduction (APSIG-2018-3, April 2018) and Artificial Intelligence — Past and Present (APSIG-2018-4, December 2018).
