The Asia Pacific School of Internet Governance (APSIG) is seeking proposals from potential local hosts for APSIG 2026 — a vital opportunity to shape Internet Governance capacity building across the Asia Pacific region.

About APSIG

APSIG is an annual event focused on capacity building and awareness-raising in Internet Governance across the Asia Pacific region. Founded by a team of enthusiasts led by Professor Kilnam Chon — considered the “Father of the Internet in Asia Pacific” — APSIG provides comprehensive training programs for aspiring youths and regional leaders.

Key responsibilities of the local host

Venue
Main room for 40–50 fellows, secretariat room, networking lobby
Accommodation
Negotiate nearby hotel rates for fellows and resource persons
Technical
Reliable internet, AV equipment, hybrid format support
Catering
Daily meals, coffee breaks, welcome and closing receptions
Visa support
Assist international participants with visa applications
Accessibility
Ramps, elevators, gender-neutral restrooms, inclusive design

The local host must be a registered entity within the jurisdiction of the hosting economy and hold an active bank account. Conference dates are typically in Q3–Q4, avoiding major overlaps with APNIC, IGF, ICANN, and similar events.

  • Detailed description of the proposed venue and facilities
  • Information on the local host organization, including experience with similar events
  • Preliminary budget with expected costs and potential funding sources
  • Proposed dates for the event
  • Plans for ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for all participants
  • Technical facilities details, including remote participation capabilities
  • Outline of accommodation options and transportation arrangements
  • Primary contact person details
